Ratified Racing Pro Eliminator Hydro Drag Boat
1999 National Class Champion A.D.B.A. and N.D.B.A.

Ratified is powered by a Rick LaPouttre 632 cu. in. Merlin based block topped with Dart aluminum heads using Titanium valves. The 364cc runner racing heads were specialty ported and race prepped by Rick LaPouttre of www.racingengines.com. A special Rick LaPouttre camshaft grind was specialty made by Lunati Cam to pump the 2.325 in. valves through a Jesel adjustable belt drive. A 4340 forged steel 4.75 in. crank and J.E. forged 14:1 high performance pistons are placed on Oliver billet steel rods, to transfer the power to the transmission. Rick port the Dart intake manifold to the heads to ensure maximum air flow and throttle response, topping it all off are 2- LaPouttre race prepped/tuned 1380 Holley Dominators. The NGK spark plugs are fired up by a MSD 7-AL Marine ignition box, timed by an MSD crank mounted trigger, and a MSD racing coil, rotor and cap sparking through low resistance spiral wound spark plug wires. A Fluidamper harmonic Balancer keeps the crank vibrations down to a minimum.
By using the new computerized racing engine building software, along with the custom camshaft specifications, Rick LaPouttre custom designed and ordered larger Bassett racing 2-1/2" tube blower headers for an additional gain of 135 more horsepower, out of the same engine, just for the header change! This a major horsepower increase not found on other engines in the class, giving an edge over the competition to help win this year's national championship.
Power is transmitted through a Lenco 2 speed transmission, using a dual Sprague system to propel the 1150 ft. lbs. of torque and is shifted by rpm triggered shifting regulator. Drive direction is reversed by a Carsile 10° V-drive transfer case. At the end of the propeller shaft a 11-5/8" stainless steel prop can be found.
