Beginning of Merlin Warranty:

World Products Merlin 509/540 Crate Engine Limited Warranty

Engine Warranty Program --24 Month or 24,00 Miles (Marine 24 Months Unlimited Miles)

Your engine will be repaired or replaced with a Merlin 509 & 540 crate engine if any internally lubricated part should fail or wear out under normal operating conditions.

Internally lubricated parts include: pistons, piston rings, crankshaft and main bearings, connecting rods and rod bearings, camshaft and camshaft bearings, timing belt, chain or timing gears, intake and exhaust valves, valve springs, guides, oil pump, push rods, rocker arms,hydraulic lifters and rocker arm shafts.   The Engine Block and cylinder heads are also covered if the Mechanical failure was caused by the above listed parts.  (does not include any other part other than what is supplied as part of the original Merlin 509 & 540 Crate engine from World Castings, Inc...)  Seals and Gaskets are not covered except when required in connection with the repair in replacement of the above specified parts.

Notice:  To Obtain the benefits provided under this warranty, it is your responsibility to:

a)  Assure that the Merlin 509 & 540 Create Engine was treated with Premium 2000 Plus Metal Conditioner within 120 days of warranty application and required payment

and

b)  Assure that vehicle oil and filter are changed every four (4) months or four thousand (4000) miles, whichever occurs first.  Marine oil and filter must be changed every four (4) months.  Proof of oil changes is required in the event of a claim.

Exceptions and Exclusions

This warranty does not apply to any parts outside those originally delivered by World Castings, Inc. as part of the Merlin 509 & 540 Crate Engine.  Repairs because of collision, misuse, road conditions, negligence, alterations, accidents, fires, floods, riots, acts of God, vandalism, theft or abuse through towing, improper load capacity or continued operation as an impaired vehicle are not covered.  Blown head gaskets, oil leaks, cracked heads or block, overheating or other engine failure due to lack of fluids or improper maintenance are not covered items.

This Warranty is transferable to a second owner or to a replacement engine.  Any transfers to a second owner must be registered with the Authorized Administrator listed below and a $25.00 transfer fee paid.

Claim Validation:

In case of engine failure, call the Authorized Administrator for claim validation.

Claim Procedure:

Submit the following to the Authorized Administrator listed below:  A copy of this warranty, original engine purchase invoice, vehicle or watercraft sales contract or bill of sale, sales invoice documenting the cause of engine failure, receipt for towing (not to exceed $75.00 per occurrence), receipt for Rent - a - Car (not to exceed $100.00 per occurrence) and proof of oil changes.  The Authorized Administrator may require further documentation.  If the claim is in order, repairs will be made or a replacement engine will be ordered (at the discretion of the Authorized Administrator), delivered and installed.  If the engine is replaced, the Authorized Administrator will assume ownership of the replaced engine.  The Authorized repairs will be compensated at a rate not to exceed 100% of the Mitchell Motors or Chilton Repair Manuals published applicable flat rate schedule.  Hourly rated for all authorized labor claims will be paid in accordance with the original installation rate.  A $4,000 aggregate limit of liability applies.

Deductible

A deductible of $250.00 applies to each claim.

We are not the "Authorized Administrator" for any claims, another company is paid for that honor.

The warranty registration form has to be completed and sent in within a required time (30 days) from purchase ,  and you will then receive the  required "Premium 2000 Plus" metal treatment that has to be added to the engine oil within 120 days of the engine warranty application.  

It is a good practice to have your engine changed by a professional company, so you have receipts to show the date and time and vehicle mileage if a claim has to be made!

Use a professional maintenance shop company for oil changes.  Purchase slips for a case of oil and a couple of filters is not sufficient for this warranty!!
